Au musée de l'histoire du Mont Saint-Michel : Armand BARBÈS (Pointe-à-Pitre 1809 - La Haye 1870). Homme politique républicain français du XIXe siècle, il conspira contre la monarchie de Juillet puis fut élu député d'extrême gauche sous la IIe République. Il tenta de constituer un gouvernement insurrectionnel en mai 1848, incarcéré au Mont-Saint-Michel, il fut libéré en 1854, il s'exila et mourut en Hollande.
